Meet the Smart Mums ambassadors
We’re delighted to have two seasoned and entertaining bloggers joining us as ambassadors for the Smart Mums project. Find out a little more about them below.
Uju Asika is founder and Babe-in-Chief of Babes about Town, a city guide for hip, smart parents of under 5s.
Babes about Town aims to help new parents recover their cool and recapture some of the buzz of big city life – all with little people in tow!
As a relative newbie to energy conservation and the ‘green scene’, Uju is looking forward to getting stuck into this campaign and earning her Smart Mum stripes!
Uju has a background in arts and lifestyle journalism and loves exploring London with her two cheeky boys, Ezra (aged 5 and 3/4) and Jed (aged 2 and 3/4).

Karen Cannard is a blogger and zero waste campaigner, who writes at The Rubbish Diet. Her work has also been featured on BBC local radio, Woman’s Hour and Channel 4′s Dispatches.
Although much of her focus is on waste and recycling, she loves other eco challenges too. She recently championed the British Gas/River Cottage energyshare renewable energy competition and was utterly delighted when her community Hexham River Hydro won.
What she’s looking forward to the most about being a Smart Mums ambassador is to help fight the urge to turn up your radiators with the promise of a cosy snuggle under a delightful woollen blanket!

Hello Uju and Karen, can’t wait to hear more from you.
